So this is my version of the "Hey everyone! I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth just yet" post.

School's out. Graduating on Saturday with a BA in English. Four long years, so many fucking papers, such great professors, such great fucking writers I got to work with, and I'm done.

Sorry I haven't been on here a whole lot. At this moment there are 10,049 deviations in my watch box. (New high score? Probably not.) But I've been busy writing. Completed my senior thesis project this semester; it's kind of like a capstone type thing. I wrote a collection of 14 prose poems plus a critical preface, some of the best work I've done so far. "Visceral" is a term that got tossed around a lot describing them. I'll upload them here if you guys want. It's called Out of the Question, into the Fire. I think you'll like it.

So, five things you may not know about me:

1) I'm really a huge sap when it comes to romantic stuff in books and movies. I don't often admit this to people, but yeah, a good romance subplot will make me melt like that.

4) I wish I could write fiction better. Ever since I was young, I've always had these ideas for all kinds of adventure stories I wanted to tell. Science fiction especially, but fantasy sometimes too. Poetry and nonfiction take up the majority of my literary time right now.

And now on to 's questions:

1.) What went through your brain when you were coming up with your dA name?
"Sigma-Echo-Seven" was the code name of the protagonist in a story I was once working on. It was spy fiction with science fiction elements and some philosophical discussion about the nature of free will. Originally I intended to post the chapters up here, but I abandoned the project a long time ago. Maybe someday I'll return to it.

2.) Do you believe it's better to have loved and lost than never loved at all?
You know what, I'm gonna be brutally honest for a second here: loving and losing someone fucking hurts. It hurts worse than anything I've ever been able to imagine, even after it's all over. But every fight that I go through makes me into a stronger person, regardless of how painful it may feel at the time. It all culminates in who I am today, and I wouldn't trade that person for anything.

3.) What's your favorite movie and why?
"Cloud Atlas" was mindblowing in its scope, and the whole thing was performed beautifully. I can't remember being more fulfilled by a movie I saw in theaters. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…

4.) Have you ever had a perfect day that you wouldn't mind living through again kinda like in the movie Groundhog Day? If so, explain it. If not, describe what a perfect day for you would be.
A perfect day for me would include:
-being challenged intellectually
-completing a new poem, or a story
-reaffirming a friendship
-discovering an awesome new band
-getting to do something physically intensive
